Did not see a lot of restaurants in the area. There is a soup kitchen very close to the building and quite a few pockets of homeless people in groups in the area. However, the area in front of the building is fine. Market Street is littered with broken bottles and trash. There is a liquor store across the street, but the nearest grocery store is about a 15-20 minute walk. The downside of this facility is that the area is rough. There was a woman sitting at the table as you entered that gave minimal help. The check in system took a bit of extra time, but it worked. As stated in some reviews, the hallway smelled of pot and the walls are thin. Beautiful sitting area and workout room downstairs. Nice sample toiletries and laundry detergent provided. The unit does have hairdryers located in the drawers in the bathroom. The second bedroom has a partial wall, but not a door. This unit is a two bedroom two bath with kitchen and full size washer and dryer. But I think our jaw hit the ground, when we walked into the unit. After reading the reviews, I was very skeptical Almost regretting making the reservations. We stayed in unit 314 and it was a beautiful well maintained condo. I felt safe entering and leaving the building. The security in the building is very good. There are homeless in all cities and Denver is no exception. one night some type of toxic chemical odor was overwhelming. Odors were noticeable in hall, trash, cooking(curry), etc. My husband is not able to walk a city block to the parking lot suggested. After becoming familiar with area worked it out. I thought the room rate was a bargain for downtown Denver Negatives - there is a parking garage for long term renters not short term renters. Immediate reply to any calls! The building employees were helpful even though they were not employees of Alfred Premier Lofts. One bedroom with a lot of natural light the other great for anyone that works nights. When I first got to the property it was after 1 am because I took a very late flight into Denver!! When we got to the apartment my husband wanted to watch the news to see what was going on with the coronavirus situation.Positives - Decor very modern, high end, balcony, washer, dryer, dishwasher, only one bathroom. If you’re a female traveling alone this IS NOT the place for you!!! Now onto my issue. Whilst all homeless people aren’t criminals there were a few that I could tell was on drugs. Stay here at your own risk!!! First off the building seems to be new and well kept in the heart of downtown so it gets a A for location, HOWEVER it’s not too far from a Salvation Army and homeless center so as soon as the gates lift on the garage you’re greeted with tents and a onslaught of homeless people. Trash, human waste, vulgar conversations are common.… They are not following the social distancing guidelines. Many social services offices in the area. With the last sweep the homeless were relocated to this neighborhood. The surrounding neighborhood is what I call tent city. They have no plan in place to manage equitably during this pandemic. We were left scrambling Easter weekend to find accommodations. This news should have come via a phone call given the short notice. We received an urgent e-mail at close of business Friday, April 10 instructing us to vacate, Monday, April 13 because they shut down operations due to the Coronavirus. Almost immediately we heard rumors that they may ask us to leave but nothing definitive was communicated. We felt secure that we had lodging to ride out the mandated quarantine. We checked in March 31 with a confirmed reservation to May 1. This Stay Alfred occupies the 6th floor of the 10 story apartment building “Alexan 20th Street Station” in Five Points, Denver.
